Can I use a dial-up or Satellite internet connection?
You can use a dial-up or Satellite internet connection to chat with hosts, but note that a slow connection may delay the video feed. To improve video streaming, please follow the instructions below.
- Make sure that your modem is not occupied with any other program:
- Close all other browser windows while Video Chatting
- Close all programs that use the internet, such as IM programs (Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, AIM, etc.), and make sure they are disabled (not active) in your system tray.
- Free up memory by closing all other programs that may be running in the background. Check your system tray (bottom right-hand corner of the screen, next to the clock) to make sure only the bare minimum is running on your computer during a Video Chat.
- Once every three to four days we suggest you run a disk cleanup:
- Go to My Computer

- Right-click on C:\
- Choose Properties
- Click the Disk Cleanup button

- Wait for a new window to appear
- Check every item in the list and click OK
- Click Yes when prompted
- Before each chat, follow the steps below:
- Close all your browser windows and then open a NEW browser
- Go to the Tools menu

- Select Internet Options

-
Choose the General tab
- Click the Delete Cookies button
- Click OK in the Delete Cookies dialog box
- Click the Delete Files button
- Mark the Delete all offline content box
- Click OK in the Delete Files dialog box
- Click the Clear History button
- Click Yes in the dialog box that appears

- Click the Settings button

- Mark Every visit to the page (the first option)
- Verify that the temporary internet files folder is under 25 MB
- To exit the Settings window, click OK

- Choose the Advanced tab in the Internet Options window
- Scroll down to the Security field and mark the Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed checkbox.

- To close the Internet Options window, click OK
- Close the entire browser window and restart your computer, then go into a chat

Can I use a wireless internet connection?
A wireless router may block the download of the ActiveX components that are needed to videochat. You may use the site without disabling your router. To do so, please make sure your
router as well as your firewall and other security software (anti-virus, anti-spyware, pop-up blockers) are configured to allow ActiveX controls.
If you have configured any of the advanced settings on your firewall or router, please make sure the following protocol, addresses, and ports, used in ImLive for Flash, are open:
- rtmpt://flashsrv.globalmailer.com ports 80
- rtmpt://fly2.globalmailer.com port 80
