Solution:
-
Check that your microphone works on other applications.
-
Right-click on the volume icon in your system tray (in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen) and choose Open Volume Control.
-
Click the Options menu and choose Properties.
-
In the drop-down menu select your microphone connection and click OK to show the microphone volume control.
-
Raise the microphone recording volume to the maximum level.
-
When you go into a host's chat room, make sure you have not marked the checkbox that says "I don't want to be seen on my webcam" - even if you do not have a webcam.
-
When you are in the host's chat room, right-click on the camera window, and choose Settings.
-
Click the Microphone tab. Make sure the correct microphone is chosen in the drop-down menu, and raise the recording volume.
-
Check, when you speak into the microphone, that the volume level bar is moving in the microphone tab, which shows that the system is properly registering your microphone.
